The overview of networking

Networking is the action or process of interacting with others through communication and listening to exchange information and develop professional or social contacts. Networking involves establishing and developing long-term relations of mutual benefits with people you meet in different places. Networking is known as a critical skill in many areas including academics, business, and career. Networking skills are necessary to make and develop relationships with a new contact and promote something of value; as a result, every individual needs to have or to maintain their networking skills through professional and social contact.

The importance of networking in Cambodian society

The importance of networking lies in many fields such as academic, career, and business. However, this paper will only concentrate on the importance of networking in academics which posed as a very important skill that all students need in their daily activities.

Academically, networking allows students to have the ability to connect with other people in their field of study and other fields, and people from different places. It also helps the students to improve their social skills by interacting with their schoolmates, teachers, and the school which results in the improvement of their academic performance as well. Once students start to network, they will be able to build bigger connections through friendships that they made, have a positive attitude, and enhance high self-esteem. By networking during their academic journey, students will also have the ability to get better job opportunities after they graduate.

The issues that Cambodian youth face through social networking

By looking through our society, teenagers face numerous kinds of difficulties in building networks due to their habits and behavior. They tend to listen more than they talk, so it is hard for them to talk and share ideas with others. This especially applies to introverts. People always keep their habit by keeping a distance from new people because they are shy and scared to communicate. When all of that happens repeatedly in daily life, it will shape the person into the one who lacks confidence and remains the mind stone which means they do not have the heart to change their behavior. These create a lack of networking in society.

The possible tips to improve the networking skills for Cambodia youth

The way out of this problem is we (ourselves) need to change and try out new things. You should speak your mind when you need to. There is no need to be shy or scared to be wrong. You should give your idea rather than keeping silent because it points out that you’re active and social. You should join social events, camping, and interact with people more. You should learn to be confident. As there are many jobs and opportunities that require confidence, so it is a tip for you to get the goal you want. Everything will work only if you take action. If you are willing to make your social skill better, you should start doing it from today.

Conclusion

Networking is very essential for all types of aspects of the community. The academic field also plays a major role in youth to improve their knowledge and skills. As a result, networking is a thing that people should not overlook and seek more to have favorable circumstances in the future.
